NIT Silchar BTech admission 2024 will start from June 10, 2024 with JoSAA registration. JEE Main session 2 result 2024 has been released on April 24, 2024. Candidates can download the scorecard online from NTA website using JEE application ID and password. The JoSAA round 1 seat allotment will start from June 22, 2024 tentatively.

NIT Silchar offers admission to various UG and PG programmes such as B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA, and MCA. Admission to these programmes is based on various entrance examinations such as JEE Main, CAT, GATE and JAM. Students are required to qualify for these exams to be eligible for admission at NIT Silchar. 

There are plenty of available scholarships at NIT Silchar. The scholarships are not only dependent on the national level scholarships provided by MHRD but also the institute has its own scholarship schemes that are distributed on a merit cum means basis. The scholarship details of NIT Silchar are as follows,

• Swami Dayanand Education Foundation Scholarships are given to students belonging to low annual income families (Less than Rs. 6 lakh per annum). The value of the scholarship ranges from Rs. 15,000 to 50,000 depending on different scholarship categories. 30% of the scholarships under this scheme are reserved for women candidates.
• Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) Chinese Government Scholarships for students on the merit-cum-means basis are given as per the Chinese government-sponsored norms. The amount of the scholarship is not released. The students have to check out the Chinese government scholarships website, https://www.csc.edu.cn/studyinchina/
• Scholarships for Research fellows at NIT Silchar are sponsored by the Ministry of Human Resource Development. The senior research fellow gets Rs. 28,000 and a junior research fellow gets Rs. 25,000.
• A scholarship by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs of the Government of India awards Rs. 45,000  to meritious Scheduled Tribe students to purchase laptops, computers, books or any other academic accessories.

JoSAA has released NIT Silchar JEE Main cutoff for round 5 on July 17, 2024. NIT Silchar cut off for general category is 25665 OR and 84759 CR. Moreover, NIT Silchar CSE cutoff for general is 26892 and OBC is 15380.

The campus of National Institute of TechnologySilchar is among the most beautiful ones and is spread over 625 acres of land with 19 lakes and tea gardens inside the campus. A 150 x 90 meters playground at NIT Silchar is there for students to engage in all kinds of outdoor games such as cricket, football, tennis, volleyball etc. NIT Silchar has a dedicated basketball ground also.

There is a fully operating State Bank of India (SBI) Branch in the campus for fee payment services and all other personal banking services. There are also fully air-conditioned computer labs with 24x7 seamlessly connected high-speed internet.
