National Institute of Technology Karnataka Surathkal was established as the Karnataka Regional Engineering College or KREC in 1960, as part of the second planning commission. NITK Surathkal has emerged as one of the most eminent engineering and technological institutes in Karnataka. Merit Scholarships will be awarded in the institute every year to top five students in the order of merit based on JEE (Main) All India Rank, admitted to each branch of the undergraduate programmes subject to the condition that they should have >90% marks at 10+2 level or equivalent qualifying examination.
An amount of Rs. 10,000/- per annum will be awarded as scholarships.
