IIT Roorkee admission to B.Tech programmes is based on JEE Advanced 2024. The exam for IIT admission will be held on May 26. This is followed by a joint seat allocation process which is called JoSAA. For admission in the M.Des programme at IIT Roorkee, CEED 2024 result is out on ceed.iitb.ac.in. UCEED 2024 results for B.Des admission is available on uceed.iitb.ac.in. Scorecards of UCEED 2024 and CEED 2024 will be available for download on March 11, 2024.

Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee offers Engineering, Applied Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Management programmes. They are the four main areas of study. Admission to all courses is based purely on entrance exam scores obtained by the candidate. These courses are offered at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels along with Doctoral programmes. A four-year B.Tech, five-year B.Arch, and dual degree programmes and also M.Tech, M.Des, M.Arch, MBA, M.Sc and PhD degrees are offered here. Advanced Certificate and PG Diploma programmes in Data Science, Machine Learning and AI can also be availed by students. The IIT Roorkee fees for the courses offered range from Rs 8 - 10 lakh approximately. This will vary according to the degree level and duration of the course.

For IIT Roorkee admissions candidates must meet the eligibility criteria mentioned by the institute and apply for the desired course. Once the application process is completed, the selections will start by considering the scores obtained in the entrance exams like JEE Main, GATE, CAT, NET, NATA, etc. The shortlisted candidates will then go for a Group Discussion or Personal Interview round or both.

IIT Roorkee Admission Requirements

Given below are the basic requirements that need to be fulfilled by the students for IIT Roorkee admissions:

The Institute offers merit-cum-means scholarship to 25% of undergraduate students. Several other scholarships are announced from time to time. Bank loans are also easily available whenever required. Financial help is provided as Institute free studentship and scholarships to undergraduate students belonging to the scheduled castes and scheduled tribes.

Students admitted to the 2-year M.Sc. degree in sciences are also awarded merit-cum-means scholarships. A number of scholarships, teaching / research assistantship schemes provide financial support to students of M.Tech. and Ph.D. programmes. Sponsored (full-time as well as part-time), self-financing foreign students and M.B.A. students are , however, not eligible for benefits of this scheme. Students are encouraged to earn while they learn.

Prizes and certificates are given to students on the basis of their performance in curricular, co-curricular and extra curricular activities.

IIT Roorkee cutoff has been released by JoSAA for round five BTech admission. The cutoff is based on JEE Advanced scores of candidates. According to official data, IIT Roorkee CSE cutoff is 481 for the general category.

Hostels - IIT Roorkee provides hostel facilities to the students and the hostels are called “Bhawans” and are available for both girls and boys. The hostels have all the modern facilities to offer along with wifi connection. It also has a Cybercafe which is managed by the students themselves.

Clubs - This institution also has several clubs for the students. These are spaces where the students can take time off from the hectic schedule and relax. They offer indoor sports facilities to the students such as billiards & snooker tables, carrom boards, chess boards, table tennis facilities, and a foosball table. These clubs also have a tv room that can accommodate at least 100 students at a time.

Sports - IIT Roorkee also provides sports facilities to the students. Now, the institute has 14 games to offer to the students of the institution. It focuses on the fact that physical exercise and involvement in any sort of sports help students to grow both physically and mentally. The sports in which the students can participate are Badminton, Athletics, Rowing, Tennis, Swimming, Hockey, Cricket, Squash, Gymnastics, Football, Basketball, Yogic Exercise, Volleyball, Kho Kho, Table Tennis, and Weight Lifting.

Guest House - IIT Roorkee also has a guest house facility for the guests who visit the campus from outstation. The campus has three guest houses to accommodate the delegates.
