UPES Dehradun admissions are offered in full-time UG, PG & PhD courses to the eligible candidates. The university conducts entrance examinations such as UPESEAT, ULSAT, UPESMET-UG, UPESDAT & UPESPAT for various courses. UPES Dehradun admission in BTech courses  is done on the basis of performance in the UPESEAT exam followed by central counselling. Admission into M.Des & B.Des courses at UPES Dehradun is based on the valid score of CEED or UPES DAT respectively followed by a presentation and Interview. UPESMET-UG and ULSAT/CLAT/LSAT scores are taken into consideration for admission in BBA and LLB admission respectively.  

UPES Dehradun also offers MBA courses with various specializations, the selection for the course is based on UPESMET accompanied by group Discussion & personal Interview. The university also accepts state/national level entrance examinations scores including CUET, JEE Main, CAT, XAT, MAT etc. for admission to its courses. A total of 33 courses are offered by the university for admission. Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria of the desired course before applying for UPES Dehradun admission. The application form the university can be filled via offline or online mode. 

UPES Dehradun offers various scholarships to meritorious and deserving students. The information about the scholarships is mentioned below. 

Exclusive Scholarship for All-Girl Students

Under this, 25% Scholarship on tuition fees will be given to all  the girls taking admission in any of the UG or PG courses for 2020

• This scholarship is applicable for the full duration of the program
• Renewal of this scholarship is on a yearly basis
•  Minimum attendance in the previous year should not be less than 75%
• The student should not have any disciplinary case/action

B.Tech Scholarship

3 scholarships are offered for B.Tech

1. Scholarship for Uttarakhand State Board Toppers:

The eligibility criteria for this state that the seats reserved under this category will be within the 15% reservation for Uttarakhand resident students. Should have “Sthai Niwas Praman Patra” (Permanent Residence Certificate). Students will be entitled only to 1 scholarship at a time (either through Uttarakhand Board Toppers or through the Uttarakhand Resident category).  UPES Dehradun scholarships in subsequent years will be as per the merit scholarship policy of the University.

The scholarship amount is 25% of the tuition fee waiver is for boys and 35% is for the girls students in the first year.

2. Merit-Based Scholarship 

This scholarship is for those who get an aggregate of 80& in classes 10 and 12th, and 80% in PCM for B.Tech (all streams) in ICSE/CBSE/State Examination Board. Such scholarships will be limited to 10% of seats in each B.Tech Program. Scholarships will be given for the first semester in merit order to eligible candidates.

The scholarship amount is 50% tuition fee waiver in the first semester.

UPES Dehradun cutoff for MBA courses is based on CAT/MAT/NMAT/CMAT. UPES Dehradun cutoff MBA is released by the university on its official website. For MBA admission, the university releases cutoff percentile. UPES Dehradun cut off for 2024 MBA admission will be released shortly by the university.

University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) is a well-known institute for providing education in many Graduate and Post Graduate courses. The campus of UPES has covered an area of 44 acres in the city of Dehradun. The Bidholi Campus is spread over an area of 30 acres while the Kandoli campus has covered an area of almost 12 acres of land. The University has a green campus spread over a built-up area of  933,000 sqft.

Many classrooms are available at the campus of University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) providing a combined seating capacity to 10,0000+ Students. The smart classrooms of the college have LCD Projectors, Black/Whiteboards, Wireless Mics & Speakers, Attendance Card Reader Machines and Wi-Fi connectivity.

The campus of UPES Dehradun University has a computer centre consisting of advanced technologies with an internet bandwidth of 1 Gbps. All labs have software alliances with IBM, Oracle, Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, and many more. As the college focuses on updating its students with modern technologies trending in the world, Cloud Labs are available for providing education about Cloud Technology. There is a network of more than 9,000+ computers installed collectively at the campus. These systems are managed by 70 servers.

The Library of UPES University contains a collection of 1,09,625+ publications and more than 100 printed and 5,443 e-journals. The library of the college provides access to the students specialized portals on Oil & Gas, and Power, and other sector-related information. Around 725  students can sit at the college library at a time for group studies or book study. An e-enabled student-teacher interaction based Learning Management System is installed at the library of the campus.

Both campuses of the university provide residential facility to more than 2000 students. Hostel rooms will be allocated to students on a first-come-first-serve basis. The college has taken care of the comfort for their students as they had installed many facilities at hostel buildings of both campuses. Residential blocks have been earmarked for limited on-campus accommodation separately for boys and girls on triple sharing basis.
The UPES Dehradun hostel fee is given below for the academic session of 2020-21 for triple sharing basis.

• Fee: Rs.1,57,500/- Regular hostels for boys and girls at Bidholi and Kandoli campus.

Certain additional facilities are available for girl students at the Kandoli campus only. The fee for the same is mentioned below.

• Rs.1,75,750/- for hostel room with attached washroom (only for girls)
• Rs.1,97,750/- for hostel room with attached washroom and air conditioning (only for girls)

In addition to the hostel fees, the students have to pay an interest-free refundable Hostel Security Fee of Rs. 10,000/- at the time of registration. Students who wish to avail the hostel facility at UPES Dehradun will have to provide a medical certificate and a police verification report. Under no circumstances will the student get any refund if he/ she withdraws from availing the hostel facility. 

Other recreational facilities including a playground,  sports complexes, common reading rooms, open laboratories are available at the UPES University campuses. The University keeps organising events at the University campus like Athletics Meet, Annual Blood Donation Camp, UURJA Annual Youth Festival, Uurja Club Volleyball tournament, Athletics Meet, Handball Tournament, Anti-Substance Abuse Campaign etc. The college provides transportation facility to the students. Medical Facility is also available at the college campus.
