Jamia Millia Islamia is a public central university situated in the capital of India, New Delhi. The university is accredited by NAAC with an A++ grade and approved by the UGC. It was established in 1920 by a group of nationalists and intellectuals to enhance the quality of education for students. As per NIRF 2023 statistics, the Jamia Millia Islamia ranking in the university category is 3 while for the overall category, the university holds 12th rank. As per QS World University Rankings, Jamia stands at 206 rank in the Asia category while in the Top Global Universities category, the ranking is 951-1000. In the overall category of Times Higher Education (THE), the JMI ranking is 501-600.

The Jamia Millia Islamia courses are approved by the UGC (University Grants Commission). The university offers 33 undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral degree programmes in various fields namely arts, science, management, engineering, law and more. The university also offers distance courses through its Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE). The Jamia Millia Islamia course admissions are offered for popular courses such as B.Tech, BA, B.Sc, M.Sc, MBA, M.Tech, MAMC, PhD, and others. Admission to these courses is based on the JMI Entrance Test as well as the CUET UG scores. Apart from this, exams like JEE Main, NATA, and NEET sc0res are also accepted. 

The university has collaborations with more than 100 national and international institutes for exchange programmes like the University of Oxford and Harvard University.
